RELATIVITY : NCCA
Relativity is an intertwining of circus and possibility. Inspired by Alan Lightman’s novel, ‘Einstein’s Dreams’. it will calculate, imagine and search for different worlds, different moments and different dimensions that can be dreamt of in the realms of Einstein’s theories of Relativity. What would you give to hold onto a moment for forever? How long does it take for your heart to break? How can a moment with a stranger influence our future?
I created the sound design and composition for this show. The director Lydia Harper wanted to use pre-existing music to lean into nostalgia as a time traveling technique. We worked together to select the music. I created a theme for the show which is heard throughout. Each time treated with a technique to represent the different time concepts such as time slipping, time dilation, freezing time, memory loss and so on.
